Alumni Association Welcomes Four New Board Members
The Executive Council of Fort Hays State University’s Alumni Association Board of Directors were joined on June 10-11 by new board members Stephanie Bannister, Manhattan; Monte Broeckelman, Dodge City; Richard Dreiling, Wichita, and Leo Lake, Salina, at the annual two day meeting in Hays. Agreeing to serve a second four-year term on the Board were Daron Jamison, Hays; Kevin Moeder, LaCrosse, and Dennis Spratt, Overland Park.
Named to the Executive Council for 2010-2011 are Brenda Herrman, Hays; Brian DeWitt, Hays; Cassie Augustine Jones, Denver, Colo.; Chuck Sexson, Topeka; Kevin Moeder, LaCrosse; Josh Biera, Garden City, and Dennis Spratt, Lawrence.
Brenda Herrman now serves as president of the executive board. She graduated from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in public administration in 1997 and from FHSU in 2000 with a Master of Liberal Studies in organizational leadership. Herrman is the director of public works for the city of Hays.
Brian DeWitt serves as past president of the alumni board of directors. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1989 from FHSU. DeWitt is a CPA with Adams, Brown, Beran, and Ball, Chartered in Hays.
Cassie Augustine Jones, graduated from FHSU in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. She is the director of account service for O’Brien Advertising in Denver. She will serve as the chair of the Membership and Marketing committee.
Chuck Sexson, graduated from FHSU in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. He is the director of the concealed carry licensing unit in the Office of Kansas Attorney General Steve Six, Topeka. He will serve as the chair of the Awards and Recognition committee.
Kevin Moeder graduated from FHSU in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture. He lives in LaCrosse and serves as the vice president and branch manager for Farmer’s Bank & Trust, NA. He will serve as the chair of the finance and operations committee.
Josh Biera graduated from FHSU in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. Holding an at-large position on the Board for the coming year, Biera lives in Garden City where he serves as a lieutenant with the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Dennis Spratt is a 1971 FHSU graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He is the vice president of the Wealth Management Group of KC, Inc., in Overland Park. He will serve as an at-large member of the board.
The Fort Hays State University Alumni Association, established in 1916, is dedicated to identifying and serving the needs of more than 46,000 graduates living throughout the United States and 73 foreign countries. The Board of Directors is a 24 member governing board that sets the policy and direction of the association in developing life-long relationships between the university and its alumni and friends.
