Graduate Travels across Pacific to Receive Award
Mariana Faiai, 2010 graduate, seized the opportunity afforded by the Virtual College at Fort Hays State University to further her educational, personal and professional goals. Her dedication has paid off as Mariana will travel from her home of American Samoa this September to receive the NUTN (National University Telecommunications Network) Student Recognition Award in Colorado Springs, Colo. After receiving the award, Mariana will travel to Hays to visit our campus for the first time and to meet the many faculty members that she has been inspired by throughout her Bachelor’s and Master’s here at FHSU.

Educational Opportunities for Career NCO Degrees Program
As of this summer, soldiers in the Career NCO Degrees Program of the U.S. Army can earn a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelor of General Studies with a concentration in General Business through FHSU’s Virtual College. "We want to provide the best educational opportunities for our military service members," said Debbie Staab, academic advisor and military specialist for FHSU's Virtual College. "Service members are eager to obtain a higher education. They are focused, disciplined and understand the value of higher education. The flexibility of our programs allows the service members to start or finish their degree program no matter where they are stationed or where they may be transferred."

Offering 31 Online Degree Programs
The Virtual College now offers Business Education online. As our 31st online program, this degree allows graduates to teach business in middle schools and high schools.
